Red River Gorge: First Time Camping

We went camping!!!!!! :D My phone tracked that I walked 13+ miles on the trip. How do I feel today you ask? My entire. body. HURTS! Particularly my feet and my shins...oh and my shoulders for some reason.

The trip was pretty awesome though! I really wish my husband could have gone. Hopefully next time we can go together.

Here I leave you with a small summary of the trip in pictures!

All packed up! Einstein was wondering where I was going. My little fluffy pants! I love him so much.

Felt horrible not bringing them with me :( Maybe next time they can come. The only concern I would have would be them getting close to the cliffs but maybe we can set up camp somewhere safer for them to hang around.

\

Let's do this thing!

Not super far from home. I don't think I had been to this side of Kentucky before.

And we are off for our hike. I didn't take that many pictures because I was busy trying to not die from walking lol.

Here is part of the group. I believe there were 18 of us total. It was a nice crowd.

It seems like we are down low but we are actually on the top of a cliff in between a natural arch that was formed in it. I couldn't stand too close to the edge because it would freak me out a bit hehehe. But I still enjoyed the view none the less.

There is Brendon climbing in between the rocks on top of the arch. There was actually a hole in between that you could see the other side from Pretty neat..

Here we are standing at the top of the rock with the arch. I won't lie but I was freaking out a bit being so high up...with no railings around!

Tried getting another group selfie but there were too many ppl lol

This was another arch we passed along the way. The trail was actually called double arch because of both the arches (duh..XP)

Nature is so beautiful!

Some of our group decided it was a good idea to clime this rock...until it was time to come back down. I wanted to go up but I knew I would be stuck up there if I did.

Tiny Jeff waving from the top. Do you see him? His head is peaking over and he is waving.

Jeff had me freaking out at the edge of the cliff.

Back at camp! Time to eat. Had quite the meal. Potatoes, peppers, zucchini, and sauseges.,

Lol Larry was cooking a sausage that was stuck on a branch. He was really hungry and could wait no longer.

My steps for the night (Saturday only)! Haven't walked that much in a while.

I learned how to cook food in a fire pit so that was cool. It actually came out really really good.

Oh nooo...The road back to the cars :( I really can't wait to do this again. It was a ton of fun.

I wish the camera could capture nature's beauty but it doesn't do it justice. I will keep the memories forever in my mind though. :)  I bet this will be even more fun next time with the husband. ;) (Who I am sure he is having fun in PR right now...lucky!)

Now, time for more rest as I mark another first off my checklist!

XOXO,
Lina
