Life Improvement

My fiancee bought me a book a few weeks ago about drawing meaning to your life. I finally got some time to start reading it and I am glad he got it for me. During my time reading it I realized one important thing, time is ticking! I have so many plans and ideas that I want to bring to life but I am just letting time slip away and am not getting things done.

I decided I need to take control of my time. I am the queen of procrastination! -_- That seriously needs to stop! I have been hearing a lot lately about planners and seeing in youtube how pretty girls make them.

I looked into buying a nice planner but all the nice ones are over $50. No way I am spending that on something my try going ay planning. Instead I decided I will try out a binder planner and see how I like it.

Today after work I went to Walmart and bought some things!

Here is my starter kit haul!

I bought a mini binder for $3.

Hand is there for size. I believe it is 5"x8". Small and cute!

Next I bought the planner pages. Since we are already almost in May the planner starts in July 2015.
I will print out May and June in the mean time. It brings a monthly and weekly calendar. Seems to have enough room to write on it. Will gove an update wgen I actually use it. This was the priciest part, $10.

I then also bought filler paper, dividers, and plastic covers. Each were $3.
The dividers are pretty neat. They are plastic and you can write on them and then erase it. Love reusable things!
And btw, all these are made for the mini binder size!

I then got stuff to decorate and sticky notes.
I intend to use the mini clothes pins as paper/binder clips.

Lastly, sone stickers. There weren't many options at Walmart :/ but I thought these were cute.

I still haven't figured out how I will properly use the planner but I am working on it. This will be my life planner and hopefully it will change my life for the better! :)

House Update

Home Inspection was yesterday. Found a couple of things that need correcting but hopefully we can negotiate something with the owners. It felt so great to be in the house for so long. I sat in the family room and in the living room and was just beaming with joy. I absolutely love this house! I hope everything goes well and we make it past closing. I can't wait for my fiancee to see it in person. I know he will love it more than he does from pictures. I am not going to share any pictures from inside yet because it is not our house yet. But I look forward to showing it once we hopefully purchase it.

Hope you have a great night! I am off to sleep and dream of the house! :)

Lina

House Hunting

What a stressful thing it can be to buy a house! I have been MIA because I have been going nuts trying to find a house for the past couple of weeks. I was all set and ready to buy the house I live in but that changed when the fiance and I decided to go look at houses.

The layout of a house is extremely inportant to me as well as the yard. The layout is important because it keeps the house organized. I want bedrooms away from the rest of the house. Well apparently that is not easy to find. Secondly, we must have a nice yard for our doggies. Plus I don't like to have mu neighbors stuck right next to me. Need my breathing room.

Well the house I live in now has all of that. They perfect layout and a great yard. BUT realistically when we go to start a family we would have to move because it only has 2 bedrooms.

The realtor took is to see a few homes in a certain price range to compare to mu current house. Out of no where she decides to take us to see a more expensive home just to see it. -_- well guess what?! We put an offer in for that one.

There it is. It was our dream house! Same things I loved about my current house only upgraded and bigger. We fell head over heels and worked hard to get it!

After like 1 week of working to get it we ended up walking away from the deal! :'( It was heartbreaking but we found out we would have to put in a lot of money to repair some things and we were over paying for it. We made the tough call and walked away. It was a bit of a relief for me because all though it was my dream house it was in a bad neighborhood which scared me. Our immediate surrounding streets were excellent and upscale but a few streets away was a different story.

So we walked away, great...what now? We were back to zero and needed to find a new house. I had already told my landlord i was leaving so I needed to find a house soon. We searched and searched day and night and nothing was catching our eye. We would find some houses but they always had a big but!

Last Thursday however, we found one! I pulled up to the house, got out of my car and noticed the garden in front of the house.

A Tulip garden!!! I immediately said this might be a good sign because they are my favorite flowers! I walked through the house and fell in love again! This was the one. I sent videos to my fiancee who was back in DC and he agreed. We put in an offer and the next day it was accepted :D

There it is!!! We are so excited and have our fingers crossed that all goes well with this one. I notice I am more relaxed this time around an have a better vibe this time around! Like we are making the right decision.

My home inspection is on Saturday. Can't wait to be in the house once again! Will keep you all posted on what goes on.

This has been an amazing learning experience. I have matured so much from all this. I feel that with this experience I shed a bit of the fear I had of being an adult and independent. I can't wait for this new adventure!
