Betrayal at The House on The Hill

It is hereeeee! The game we ordered Saturday has arrived and I am ecstatic about it!!!

Here is everything that comes inside:

It brings 6 explorer figurines with their Character tiles. The tiles contain the pkayer information as well as keeps track of the players physical and mental abilities. The tiles are double sided with different characters.

There are these dice that have blank sides...no idea how they are used yet.

The tiles that make up every room in the house

And 3 booklets. One is the rule book and the other 2 descirbe what happens when the haunt begins. There is one book for the traitor and one for the survivors.

From what I read there are 50 different scenarios! How awesome is that. The house gets built as you go and there are event cards so no 2 games will be the same.

Can't wait to get my friends together so we can pkay this bad boy! I will let you all know how it goes.

XOXO,
Lina

PS: We played Zombies!!! yesterday with friends. It was a lot more fun with more people. However, we learned the hard way not to put the Helipad towards the end of the tile stack. The game was impossible to finish!

My husband almost finished and I messed up his plan as well as my other firiend lol. Not to mention that at one point the path was clear towards the Helipad and I added 10 zombies.

Look at that row of Zombies hahaha

This is what our overall city ended up looking like. Our friends really liked it despite the fact that we messed up with where the Helipad was located. Lessoned learned. Next time we agreed to play as teams to make it more interesting.

Zombies!!!

Bought a new game yesterday! We wanted to buy Betrayal at the house on the hill but was wayy more expensive at the store compared to Amazon. Since we made the trip and were having friends over we decided to at least buy something. I saw many cool games but they would requiere a bit of time to get the hang of.

I ended up finding one that seemed interesting and not too complicated. You guessed it, it is called Zombies!!!

There are a few different ways the game can be played with different objectives but the main point is to kill zombies.

We didn't get around to playing it last night as a group but my husband and I gave it a try this morning.

I enjoyed it. You go building the town as you go and no 2 games will ever look the same. The cool part is there are seriously zombies everywhere! The game comes with 100 zombie figures!

I do think the game is more fun with mire people because the point of the game is to screw people over (if you are playing every man for themselves).

This is what our game finished looking like:

I won! :) one thing I will say is that some of the rules are not very clear. I looked up videos in YouTube to clarify and everyone seemed to also say somethings were unclear and some even played the game wrong (based on the rules I did understand). I think as long as you set what the rules will be for the rest of the game are up front you are good to go.

I enjoyed it. Can't wait to play it with more friends and see how that goes.

As for the game of Betrayal at the house on the hill we did order it through Amazon and it should arrive tomorrow. My cousin told me about it and I have geard good things about it so looking forward to playing that one.

One last one I have my heart set on is Runewars

This guy brings 196 figures!!! I can use those for DnD. Not to mention the game looks badass. Like a mix of settlers of catan, with the way the tiles are shaped, with DnD. Gotta love board games. We will see when I purchase it. I will probably wait til I play with some of yhe other games we have bought that we havent gotten around to pkaying yet. I will make posts on those when we play them.

If you have any questions about Zombies!!! feel free to ask. :)

Cabrewbeque?!?

Hello hello! Okay okay I know I stopped posting for a bit. Got super busy again with work :/ I think this is the busiest I have ever been to date. Still have some more work to get done but we are trucking along.

I wanted to share that last Sunday we went canoeing with a couple of friends. We had been waiting for the weather to be nice to do this. Our friend set this up and decided they would grill while we canoed.

I will say it was pretty awesome. We had about 5 canoes tied together making their way down the river hehehe.

Here we are starting off. Not tied up yet.

Let the cooking begin!!!

Jorge and I were steering the left side of the canoe group. Mostly Jorge lol but I like to think I helped.

See the rope holding us together? It was a pretty interesting experience that I truly enjoyed. The food was super yummy. They bought these cheese infused burgers amd cheese jalapeƱo hot dogs! Just heavenly!!!!

Can't wait to go canoeing again! We need to go on more adventures like this! ;)

Pullip Update: Fashion Haul

Wanted to give another Pullip update. I have not been able to work on her face again since my last post because I have been super busy with work. :/

Although I haven't been able to work on her I have, however, been on the hunt for clothes. I did my research and found that she can wear barbie clothes, monster high clothes, as well as clothes from other dolls I had not even heard of.

The ladies I read or saw videos of talking about the clothes said they would often times get things at walmart or target. So I decided next time I visited those stores I would check out what they had.

The first place I actually went to and checked in was Meijer. I found some barbie clothes which looked okay but what really caught my eye were these little packa with accessories. Here they are below:

They bring a pair of high heeled shoes/sneakers, a pair of flats, purse, bracelet, and some other form of jewelry or accessory. I immediately thought the heels wouldn't work because that is what I keep reading online but the flats would do.

I bought 2 of those sets for $2.99 each. As far as clothes goes I didn't want to go crazy buying a bunch of things so I just bought this set. Since I don't really know if the clothes fits her anyway it makes sense tk start off slow. This pack was like $8-10 I believe.

Loved the style, so me! Plus it brought sneakers so that was another big plus as to why I got it.

Lastly, I search for other doll clothes but didn't have much luck. All I found was this bratz doll for $5. She had a cute beanie in the kits so I got it just for that.

I tried her clothes on my doll when I got home and it was tok small. I wilm show pictures of that later in another post. But at least I got the beanie and more accessories.

That was it from Meijer. Then Tuesday I went to Target with the hubby and checked the toy section again. This place really didn't have much. All I got was this dress below for $2.99.

Then from the Our generation dolls I bought the kit you see below. I got it mainly because of the glasses! Um don't mind the insides in the packaging. I opened it before taking a picture hehehe.

The glasses are honestly the only Pullip appropriate size item from this kit. It was fairly cheap also so that is ehy I didn't mind.

Overall I was super happy with the items. Can't wait to show you how they look on her! I will give that update hopefully tomorrow.

Gwen Stefani Concert!

Oh My God!!!!!!!!! You read that title right...we just bought our tickets for the Gwen Stefani concert! Now it is still a few months away but IDC. You have no idea how exciting this is for me.

I have been a No Doubt fan since the second grade. Yes, you read that right...the second grade! That was when my dad bought their album Tragic Kingdom and let me hear it. I think it quickly became mine after that. As side from the fact that I absolutely love their style of music, Gwen Stefani was like my idol.

Her style and the way she is is exactly how I feel inside about myself. I see her and I feel that I see myself if I were able to do crazy things with my hair and my clothing. When she went solo her style just got even crazier and I loved it even more.

Now up until now I have unfortunately missed the No Doubt concerts because I always seem to find out late about these things -_-. But not this time!!!! I was watching a youtube video of her...this guy below which is pretty awesome btw.

At the end of the video, thank goodness I watched all the way through, they announced her concert. You should have seen my face. I immediately jumped on to check dates and prices. It seemed do-able. So this morning I got up and bought our tickets before the good seats sold out.

We are officially going to go see her! I cannot wait! After many years of being a fan I will finally get to see her in person! Now the husband just needs to start studying her music so he can sing along with me at the concert lol We ar going to have sooo much fun..I just know it! ;)

Hubby Is Here to Stay!

My husband is finally back from his loooong trip to PR and Boston. Along with that good news, we hope it stays good news, is that he is staying home for now :D. That means the pups and I get to see him everyday!!!!!!!! We have not lived together since Dec 2013 when we finished school and I had to move for work and the program. Up until now we have been living in different states and just seeing each other when ever possible. The latest was we got to see each other every weekend. It still sucked for him though having to eventually pack up his things and leave for the week.

Unfortunately, him moving here means he had to leave the job that he loved and some great friends behind. We are extremely grateful for everything that company has done for him. I have watched him grow into an amazing person thanks to them. I hope that this new chapter in life will be a good one and that it continues to help him grow professionally. Fingers crossed that it all works out. For now I am just super happy that we can be together again as a family. :)

Lina

Pullip Update: Hobby Lobby Haul

From my last update I showed you how the doll's faceup turned out. For being my first time I think it turned out just fine. Unfortunately, I have a bit of OCD for certain things. Arts and crafts is one of them.

The fact that it is not perfect is really bugging me. I plan on fixing that! :) I have been looking at videos in youtube for the essential tools I needed. I got some really good information and got all excited about fixing my doll.

In one of the videos they showed a haul that they did at hobby lobby. One of the items they showed was a bicycle...Okay, so for the past week I had been on the hunt for a decent sized bicycle for my doll. All I kept finding though was from Barbie. They were okay but they are plastic.

When I saw the little bike she had bought I knew I had to go out and get one for myself! Plus I needed to get my new supplies.

Today during my lunch break I went to hobby lobby and got what I needed. Here it is:

The bike. Isn't it perfect?!? It is all metal. It has a horrible paint job but that is no big deal since I plan on repainting it.

At first I could not find the bikes and found a couple of motorcycles. They were super cute but not representative of me, which is who the doll represents. I kept looking around and found airplanes. Now that was more like it! They had a few options but I had to pick one that worked best.

This is the one I ended up getting. It was in the best condition out of all the options. Now it isn't really scaled for her but I think she would still be cute next to it when I take pictures of her. She is going to be a pilot! ;)

I am super happy with the bike and plane. Oh and did I mention that all the metal decor from the "men decor" section was 50% off!!!!! It was perfect timing!

Aside from the bike and plane I found a pair of glasses in the doll section. Now they dont fit her perfect but at least the frame part over the eyes is the right size.

They are a terrible color so I will be repainting and removing those pink lenses. I also need to figure out how to make the legs shorter. I will figure it out.

As far as supplies goes to paint her I bought some watercolor pencils, soft pastels, and a new brush for painting eyelashes.

The color pencil I used before was terrible. It was a regular color pencil though. I hope this works much better.

For the soft pastels, i thought I had chalk pastels at home so I bought something I already had. -_- On the bright side though, I at least have new shades to work with.

Lastly, I needed a new thinner, longer, fine brush. I didn't find many options.

This was the thinnest, longest one I found. Hope it helps me draw better lashes.

I can't wait to sit down and try out all the new supplies. I won't stop working on her faceup until it is perfect.

For now I need to get some rubbing alcohol and remove her current make up so I can try again. You have no idea how happy I am that after 3 years I am finally working on my doll. :)

Nothing better than crafting! Happy crafting everyone!

XOXO,
Lina

Pullip Update: Clothes

After I was done working on Pullip's makeup for the day and was waiting for it to dry I decided to switch focus. I currently have no clothes for her but I have plenty of scrap fabric or old clothes laying around that I can use to dress her. I started randomly trying on a blouse I had on her and coming up with different outfits.

The first thing I came up with was a tube top and a matching pinskirt.

I don't think I would use these two together as her ourfit because it is too much green but at least I have 2 separate pieces.

I then cut a piece for a circle skirt and another for a lose top.

I haven't sewn any of it up yet but I just wanted to show you more or less what I have started working on. I also home to make a few dresses out of this blouse. No piece will remain unused lol

I will show the end results with these guys when I finish them. I have other patterns and fabrics that I will be using so stay tuned for that as well.

Pullip Update: Makeup

I was finally able to sit down and work on my pullip doll again. Ever since the camping trip my schedule sort of went out of wack since I pretty much lost my weekend to get stuff done at home. It was good that Friday I got to take some time off which helped me get back into the swing of things.

Yesterday I cleaned up around the house a bit but then decided I really wanted to work on the Pullip again. I have been looking in Pinterest for inspiration and just couldn't wait to work on her. I brought all my things into the now cleaned up office and got to work.

Last time I left off with having done her cheeks, eyebrows, and a bit of eyeliner. I continued working on her eyeliner and adding lashes and what not. I will say that I made SO MANY mistakes it is not even funny. But bare with me, it is my first time doing something like this and I am learning as I go.

The eyelashes were a nightmare lol..I first tried using my brush with the shortest bristles. -_- Yeah that didn't go well. Luckily I had another brush which has longer bristles and that seemed to work better. I managed to get lashed drawn on her. Am I happy with them? Um NO. But it is good enough for now.

It is kind of hard to get the lash thick at the base of the eye and then taper off at the end. I kept getting paint globs at the end of the lash which would infuriate me!

Another thing I had trouble with was drawing the eye crease line over the top of the eye. I have seen other Pullips with it and it looks beautiful. Yeah..about that. I drew it on and erased it so many times that it left a stain on her. Ughhhhh...I brought out flesh colored paint to cover it up but it turned out that it was completely the wrong color! But I was too far deep into it now. That paint was not coming out so I ended up using it as like an eye shadow. The paint didn't go on super smooth because I kept messing with it and the stupid lashes but again, it is good enough.

The only thing I am super happy with are the eyelids. I brought out a copper paint that I had around and just slapped that on the eyelash part of the mechanism. It came out beautiful. Then I added the lashes which I had bought from walgreens and cut up to fit her eyelid.

I didn't have crazy glue or any other type of glue around so I used my glue gun. I hope there is enough space between the lash and her eyeball so she can wink without interference. *Clearances...I wonder how they come up with the clearance measurement for the eyelids. ahh my mind just went into engineering mode with that one lol*

Here she is somewhat assembled. What do you think? I know she isn't perfect but I think she is just fine for my first Pullip MIO.

The final thing I am working on are her pupils. OMG this is another disaster lol. I need to look up some tutorials on how to do this. If not I will have to order premade eyechips. She is going to have blue eyes..hopefully they turn out okay.

I will try to finish her today. I am really anxious to just have her fully assembled. I know I have quite a while to go with that since she also needs a wig. That will be another adventure on its own I am sure.

Stayed tuned for more update on her.

XOXO,
Lina
