The fact that it is not perfect is really bugging me. I plan on fixing that! :) I have been looking at videos in youtube for the essential tools I needed. I got some really good information and got all excited about fixing my doll.
In one of the videos they showed a haul that they did at hobby lobby. One of the items they showed was a bicycle...Okay, so for the past week I had been on the hunt for a decent sized bicycle for my doll. All I kept finding though was from Barbie. They were okay but they are plastic.
When I saw the little bike she had bought I knew I had to go out and get one for myself! Plus I needed to get my new supplies.
Today during my lunch break I went to hobby lobby and got what I needed. Here it is:
The bike. Isn't it perfect?!? It is all metal. It has a horrible paint job but that is no big deal since I plan on repainting it.
At first I could not find the bikes and found a couple of motorcycles. They were super cute but not representative of me, which is who the doll represents. I kept looking around and found airplanes. Now that was more like it! They had a few options but I had to pick one that worked best.
This is the one I ended up getting. It was in the best condition out of all the options. Now it isn't really scaled for her but I think she would still be cute next to it when I take pictures of her. She is going to be a pilot! ;)
I am super happy with the bike and plane. Oh and did I mention that all the metal decor from the "men decor" section was 50% off!!!!! It was perfect timing!
Aside from the bike and plane I found a pair of glasses in the doll section. Now they dont fit her perfect but at least the frame part over the eyes is the right size.
As far as supplies goes to paint her I bought some watercolor pencils, soft pastels, and a new brush for painting eyelashes.
The color pencil I used before was terrible. It was a regular color pencil though. I hope this works much better.
For the soft pastels, i thought I had chalk pastels at home so I bought something I already had. -_- On the bright side though, I at least have new shades to work with.
Lastly, I needed a new thinner, longer, fine brush. I didn't find many options.
I can't wait to sit down and try out all the new supplies. I won't stop working on her faceup until it is perfect.
For now I need to get some rubbing alcohol and remove her current make up so I can try again. You have no idea how happy I am that after 3 years I am finally working on my doll. :)
Nothing better than crafting! Happy crafting everyone!
XOXO,
Lina
