The BIG Wedding

On Dec 6, 2015, Jorge and I got married finally after many years of engagement. We wanted to do it already so we could finally be husband and wife. It was a civil marriage, however. We had close friends with us that were in the area but not our family or other important friends. So a second wedding must be done to include everyone.

Over winter break, right before going on our cruise (oh yeah..didn't mention this we went on a cruise for a whole week :) ) we stopped by the church in my husband's home town to talk about our marriage in 2016. We walked out of there with a date set! BUT it is with the condition that I can complete my first communion and confirmation before then 0.0 *gulp*.

I was able to get a hold of a near by church and it seems this is going to be possible so that I can get married in November. My first class is going to be on Sunday and it will run until April (but I do have a lot of catching up to do because classes started a while ago). I am looking forward to Sunday because this means I am going to meet new people. We can always use more friends.

After Sunday I will have a better confirmation if I will meet all the requirements for the wedding. So you know what that means? Let the stress of planning a wedding begin hehehehe.

This wedding has been in the making for over 5 years and we pretty much know what we want. I am a pretty creative person and a bit OCD so I intend to be extremely hands on for everything. I can't wait to finally do this. I was super happy when I left PR and saw how involved both our families wanted to be with the planning of the wedding :). I am not going for the glitz and glamour that the typical bride goes for. That is not me at all. I mean don't get me wrong, I do want my wedding to look beautiful...but it will be my definition of beautiful. My main focus and priority for the wedding is for my guests to have the best time ever. After all, this is a celebration of two families coming together!!!

Can't wait for the big day! I will keep you posted on what happens on Sunday with the classes.

XOXO,
Lina
